Medication management

Psychiatric Medication Management in Ridgeland, MS

Careful evaluation, a plan you understand, and regular follow-up to see how treatment is actually working.

Who this may be appropriate for

Medication management may fit adults who are starting psychiatric medication for the first time, transferring care from another provider, or continuing treatment for conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or other psychiatric diagnoses. It may also fit people whose current regimen has not been reviewed in some time. Whether medication is appropriate at all is part of the conversation, not a foregone conclusion.

The evaluation

Your first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We review symptoms and history, medical conditions, sleep, substance use, past medications and how you responded to them, and what you want treatment to change.

Where diagnostic clarity is difficult, we take the time to sort it out rather than layering on treatment. Where pharmacogenomic information would help, GeneSight® testing may be discussed.

Follow-up and monitoring

  • Review of symptom change, side effects, sleep, and daily functioning.
  • Dose adjustments or medication changes when the plan is not working.
  • Lab work or other monitoring when a medication calls for it.
  • Long-acting injectable options for thought disorders and mood stability.
  • Coordination with therapists and other treating clinicians.
